Physical and Mental Health

The Physical and Mental Health Committee is committed to inspiring wellness in mind, body, and spirit for both our members and the community. Through impactful programs, valuable resources, and intentional outreach, we promote healing, resilience, and overall well-being. Guided by the National Five-Point Programmatic Thrust and current National Initiatives, we strive to raise awareness, encourage action, and create meaningful change. We believe wellness is essential to living, leading, and serving with purpose.

National Wear Red Day

On Friday, February 6, 2026, we will observe National Wear Red Day, a time dedicated to raising awareness about heart disease — the leading cause of death for women.

African American women are disproportionately impacted by heart disease, high blood pressure, and stroke. Wearing red is more than a symbol — it is a call to educate, prevent, advocate, and take action for our heart health and the health of our families and communities.
The Physical and Mental Health Committee encourages all Sorors to prioritize their wellness by scheduling heart health screenings, learning their numbers, and encouraging loved ones to do the same.
Together, we can help reduce health disparities, empower our communities through education and awareness, and protect our hearts for generations to come.
