Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Solano Valley Alumnae Chapter recognizes and honors students who are committed to academic excellence, positive leadership, and community service.  We are offering scholarships up to $2000.

  • Eligibility for this scholarship is limited to graduating female African-American high school seniors who are residents of Solano County and attend a high school in Fairfield, Travis AFB, Cordelia, Vacaville, Suisun, Dixon, and Rio Vista communities. The applicant must demonstrate the following:
  • Academic achievement (minimum overall grade point average of 2.75 G.P.A. on a 4.0 scale).
  • Leadership ability as demonstrated and verified by participation in extracurricular activities, community service, and/or holding positions in organizations.
  • Will attend a two-year accredited Community College or four-year accredited University/College in Fall 2017.

To be considered, this application packet MUST BE POSTMARKED no later than APRIL 1, 2018.

Delta Academy (Middle School Girls), Delta GEMS (High School Girls) and EMBODI (High School Boys)  participants must register at the Fairfield Community Center to become a  PAL member ($10) and also complete SVA forms to participate in upcoming events.

The EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) program is designed to refocus the efforts of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., with the support and action of other major organizations, on the plight of African-American males. Both informal and empirical data suggests that the vast majority of African-American males continues to be in crisis and is not reaching its fullest potential educationally, socially and emotionally. EMBODI is designed to address these issues through dialogue and recommendations for change and action. EMBODI addresses issues related to STEM education, culture, self-efficacy, leadership, physical and mental health, healthy lifestyles choices, character, ethics, relationships, college readiness, fiscal management, civic engagement and service learning.

Solano Valley Alumnae has partnered with the Fairfield Police Athletic League (PAL) to offer this program to male youth of Solano County.
